Couples Counseling

At BSR Counseling, we specialize in helping couples strengthen their connection, improve communication, and rebuild trust. Our therapist, Mr. Mallon, is formally trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)—a research-based approach proven to improve relationship satisfaction and emotional intimacy.

Your work together begins with a 90-minute intake session, which includes time to explore your relationship dynamic and the concerns that brought you to therapy. Each partner will also have a brief individual session to review mental health history and patterns of attachment.

After the initial intake, sessions are typically conjoint, with both partners present. During these sessions, you’ll learn to:

  • Recognize and change negative interaction patterns

  • Express vulnerability in a safe, supportive environment

  • Understand the emotions driving conflict

  • Develop secure, lasting ways of relating to one another

In addition to EFT, we integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and mindfulness techniques to support emotional regulation and mutual understanding.
